This study aims to identify the morphological diversity of papaya (Carica papaya L.) in Bang Haji District, Central Bengkulu Regency, Indonesia. A survey method was employed, incorporating field observations, interviews with local farmers, and direct identification of papaya plants in the area. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted to assess the diversity, variety types, and abundance of papaya plants. The results revealed several distinct papaya varieties cultivated in the region, each with unique morphological characteristics. Local varieties generally produce larger fruits and have sturdier trees, while California varieties are more compact with smoother, rounder fruits. The observed variation in fruit size, leaf structure, and growth patterns suggests that environmental factors and cultivation practices significantly influence the morphological traits of papaya plants in this region
