Efforts to Improve Character Characters in the Drama Du'a Nalu Pare for Drama Interest Participants at the Indonesian Cultural Center in Dili, Timor Leste

Abstract

This study aims to improve the character of the characters in the role through the drama Du'a Nalu Pare in drama participants at the Indonesian Cultural Center (PBI) Dili, Timor Leste. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research process consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage includes selecting participants and analyzing drama scripts. The implementation stage includes script reading exercises, character exploration, and body expression and gesture exercises using emotional recall techniques. Evaluation is carried out through dress rehearsals and final performances. The results of the study indicate that the practice-based training method is able to improve participants' understanding of character, expression, and appreciation of their roles.
