Abstract

Muhammadiyah is an Islamic social organization in Indonesia. This organization is not involved in practical politics but is very concerned with the political dynamics in Indonesia in realizing national politics that prioritizes humanity and democracy. This paper aims to elaborate in depth on the strategic role of Muhammadiyah in the 2024 election. This research is a historical research so the method used is the historical method consisting of four stages, namely: heuristic, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of the study indicate that Muhammadiyah in the 2024 election is in a neutral position, meaning it does not side with any of the presidential and vice presidential candidates or political parties. However, Muhammadiyah encourages its best cadres to participate in the 2024 election as part of an effort to build a progressive and civilized Indonesia. Muhammadiyah also encourages and invites the public to exercise their right to vote and not to abstain from voting, because the people's voices are very important in determining the quality of Indonesian leaders
