Abstract

This study examines the impact of supportive work environment on employee retention in the hospitality sector, focusing on the mediating role of organizational commitment and person-organization fit. Using purposive sampling method, 162 employees from hotels and tourist attractions participated, with data analyzed through SEM-PLS. The results showed that a good work environment does not directly increase employee retention, but can increase retention through organizational commitment and individual fit with the organization. When employees feel valued and aligned with their company's mission and values, they are more likely to remain loyal. This highlights the importance of creating a workplace culture that fosters commitment and alignment with organizational values to improve employee retention. For practical implications, the hospitality sector industry is encouraged to develop retention strategies that focus on leadership support, career development, and increased employee engagement. However, this study has limitations, as it only examines hotels and tourist attractions, raising the question of whether these findings apply to other sectors, such as restaurants and tourism management. To gain a clearer understanding, it is recommended to expand this research to include more industry segments
