Job Satisfaction as a Intervening Variable: The Effect of Happiness at Work and Workplace Spirituality on Employee Performance (Empirical Study at PT Sidogiri Mandiri Utama Pasuruan)

Abstract

This research is quantitative with an explanatory research method. There are two independent variables, namely Happiness at Work (X1) and Workplace Spirituality (X2), a mediating variable in the form of Job Satisfaction (Z), and a dependent variable in the form of Employee Performance (Y). The data analysis used is descriptive statistics and inferential analysis (path analysis and hypothesis testing) using SPSS 25 software. The population in this study is 120 employees at PT Sidogiri Mandiri Utama Pasuruan. This research uses a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique, resulting in a sample of 108 respondents. The research findings reveal the influence of happiness at work and workplace spirituality on employee performance through job satisfaction, with a case study on the employees of PT Sidogiri Mandiri Utama Pasuruan showing a positive and significant effect both directly and indirectly. The limitations of this study are, first, that it focuses only on one object, namely PT Sidogiri Mandiri Utama Pasuruan. Second, this study only utilizes 4 variables: happiness at work, workplace spirituality, job satisfaction, and employee performance
