Abstract

Sustainable education has become one of the main goals in the sustainable development agenda. This study aims to analyze the needs in science learning. The needs analysis begins by identifying problems in science learning, followed by an analysis of the needs in science learning. This research employs a mixed-method approach with a sequential exploratory design. Data collection techniques include focus group discussions, observation, interviews, document studies, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques use the Miles, Huberman, & Saldana model for qualitative data and descriptive methods for quantitative data analysis. The analysis results indicate the importance of facilitating scientific reasoning skills and sustainable literacy for students. The study also provides recommendations for science learning designs that can support the development of these skills
